When Adams Electric retires Ownership Rewards to its current and former members, traditionally some of that money remains unclaimed after a year. By law, this money cannot be used to off-set rates; therefore, the co-op uses the unclaimed funds to support post-secondary education scholarships, invest in community projects and events, and aid members struggling to pay their electric bills. Ultimately, however, the goal is to return the funds to their proper owners.
