Help ‘Stuff the Bucket’ with pre-teen ‘toys’

Adams Electric members and the community are invited to help the cooperative “Stuff the Bucket” this holiday season with toys that will bring holiday joy to youth in need.

Toy collection bins will be set up in each district office from Dec. 4 to Dec. 19 to collect new and gently used items. Donations will benefit the rescue missions in the Gettysburg, Shippensburg and York districts.

Drop off toys from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays at these district office locations:

Adams recognized years of service

GETTYSBURG, PA: Adams Electric Cooperative recently recognized 14 employees and directors for a combined 255 years of dedicated service to the cooperative at its annual employee/director recognition dinner held in October in Lewisberry.

“It is a pleasure to work with so many dedicated people, committed to making Adams Electric a better organization for the communities it serves,” says CEO/General Manager Steve Rasmussen.

Adams to send crews to aid in Irma restoration efforts

Seven Adams Electric Cooperative employees are joining nearly 2,000 other electric cooperative utility workers descending on areas of the southeastern United States pounded by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irma. The three crews, plus a supervisor, left early Tuesday morning taking with them supplies for two weeks in three bucket trucks. The Adams crews (one each from the co-op’s Gettysburg, Shippensburg and York districts) are expected to spend the night in Greenville, SC, before reporting Wednesday to the Jackson Electric Membership Cooperative in Jefferson, Ga.

Operations Promotions at Adams Electric

Adams Electric Cooperative recently announced the promotion of two employees, Tony Spangler and Max Rinehart, both of Gettysburg.

Spangler was promoted to lead lineman in the cooperative’s Gettysburg District. He started with Adams in 2005 as a trainee.

Rinehart advanced to journeyman second class in the co-op’s Gettysburg District. He started with Adams in 2012 as a first year apprentice.

Two promoted at Adams Electric

Gettysburg, PA – Adams Electric Cooperative announced recently that Jordan Hoke, of Shippensburg, has advanced to fourth year apprentice in the operations department, while Tom McMaster, of Hanover, was promoted to field design coordinator in the engineering department.

Hoke advanced within his apprenticeship, June 28. Hoke began with the co-op in August 2014 as a first year apprentice. He works out of the cooperative’s Shippensburg District.

Adams Electric employees earn supervisory certificates

GETTYSBURG, PA – Three employees of Adams Electric Cooperative recently completed the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s (NRECA) supervisory certificate program in State College, Pa.

Staking Technician B Tony McCauslin of Biglerville, Journeyman First Class Craig Mummert of Spring Grove and Journeyman Second Class Brad Varner of Shippensburg completed the program and join 48 other cooperative employees who have received their supervisory certificates since 1992.
