Chief operating officer hired at Adams Electric Cooperative
CEO/General Manager Steve Rasmussen today announced the hiring of Jim Siglin of Vernon, N. J., to fill a newly-created position of chief operating officer at Adams Electric Cooperative.
Siglin, who began his new job on Jan. 3, will oversee a combined engineering and operations department following the retirement of Marvin Snyder, operations manager, Jan. 5 and the pending retirement of Scott Wehler, vice president of engineering, later this year. Before coming to Adams Electric, Siglin worked with Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative (SREC) in Sussex, N.J., for just over 30 years where he served as staff engineer and manager of a combined engineering and operations department. He was named the co-op’s president and CEO in 2007.
“Jim’s experience will help us realize the efficiencies and benefits that can come from a combined engineering and operations department,” said Rasmussen. “He has strengths that will benefit Adams Electric and we are eager to use his knowledge of setting rates, infrastructure planning, cost management and job training coordination.”
While at SREC, Siglin served as president and CEO of SREC Resources, the co-op’s wholly-owned subsidiary that provides electrical contracting services and specializes in generator sales, installation and services. Siglin also served as a director for the Public Power Association of New Jersey, United Utility Supply and the Sussex County Economic Development Partnership.
Siglin earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Widener University and holds a professional engineering license from the state of New Jersey. He is a graduate of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s management internship program.
