A CFL, is a light that can fit into most existing light fixtures formerly used for incandescent lights. Compared to general service incandescent lamps giving the same amount of visible light, CFLs generally use less power, have a longer rated life, but a higher purchase price. In the United States, a CFL can save over 73% in electricity costs over the lamp's lifetime compared to an incandescent lamp and save 2,000 times its own weight in greenhouse gases. Remember, these lights are most efficient when used in locations where lighting will be left in the on position for more than 15 minutes at a time.
Do you have burned out CFLs you need to dispose of?Adams Electric has established a recycling program for compact fluorescent light bulbs at all of our offices. Simply bring in any unbroken CFLs that were used residentially and we'll take care of the rest!
