Through the 2009 federal stimulus bill tax, credit is available for energy efficiency upgrades made at existing homes in 2009 and 2010. Members' electric bills from June through October include a Summer Energy Charge under the Energy Supply section. The charge is a direct result of seasonally higher demand peaks, which cause higher wholesale power supply costs for Adams Electric. These costs are passed through to members in proportion to how much electricity they use. Learn more > Meters Move On. Adams Electric has struck a deal with the NRECA International Foundation to donate its old digital meters to a cooperative in need. Learn more > Aero Aquisition. Aero Energy President and CEO Tom Washburn and Bill Wise, Owner of Wise Oil and Fuel, Cambridge, Md., have announced the merger of Wise Oil and Fuel with Aero Energy, New Oxford, Pa. Read more > Gas to Electric. The Cumberland County Landfill in Shippensburg will no longer flare off the methane gas produced there. Instead, through a renewable energy project PPL, IWS and Adams Electric unveiled June 25, 2009, the methane will be used to generate enough electricity to power 4,800 homes.
